Yes,it is a 1.5” nut,and i’m guessing from the feel a 7.5” radius. For some reason,that combination seems to feel good to me. (Not really that fond of the skinny nut size usually).
The Mid70s Jazz i had once also had very little real estate in that area. The jb2 seems to have a bit more neck depth in that first fret area. If i were to order something made to my specs,i’d probably go with Gl’s 1 5/8” nut,12” radius,which is what i have on my Lb-100.

While the MIM Geddys are all right, I found they got quite a bit better with the CIJ (up to 2006) then to MIJ (post-2006) then of course to the USA which is on another whole level of tone/build quality/feel. And I thought my 2007 MIJ was one of the best basses I'd played. That said, I have not played the original MIJ Geddys (1998 until replaced with CIJ). And I suppose I should say here a MusicMan Caprice is probably tied for best bass I have ever played.

My Geddy is a 98, and yes, its spectacular

One more point, it seems that the American Geddys average about a pound lighter than the Mexican Geddys. It will not be my main gigging bass, and I mainly play sitting, but since my went a bit today moving for my wife, I appreciate any reduction of wear and tear on my body.

Why do I listen to you guys and to think of participating in this thread. I ordered a used Red fender original 60 jazz. Getting it this Tuesday. I think all you guys are great but this thread was a little too strong and it generated a GAS that was enough for me to do it. The pictures looked good and at a weight I just had to do it. Never had a red bass and I am looking forward for this one. So if you will excuse me when one bass comes in there are a few things I must sell.

I always do that too. “If I sell this and that I can buy this!” The. I don’t sell anything lol. Selling phase has begun now anyway.

The hard part becomes not “which to get?” but “which to get rid of?”

Congrats! Red Jazzes are some of the best.
I’m actually selling off my US Geddy now cause I got a Moollon :rollno:

We all seem to have similar issues here...
