Gev Delano and EllenPlaysBass remind me of my 2022 life goals- spend less time on TalkBass and more time PlayBass.

I am currently failing at this goal.

As for Indonesian instruments... yes, we all remember when the stuff out of there was tin-can, but nowadays they're creating killer stuff. Kinda like South Korea- Hyundai cars were tin cans in the 1980s, have steadily improved, and since the 2000s have become some of the most reliable cars on the road rivaling even Toyota and Honda. I wholly expect Indonesian craftsmanship to follow suit.

I've said it many times before on other threads and I'll say it again here.

In my opinion, Made in Indonesia is the new MIJ. Just look at the SIRE basses and Ibanez Premium basses. Both made in Indonesia and both are world class, TOP SHELF basses.

Do you know how you can get around pre-recoded tracks. I was doing something on FB for my friends and FB blocked it. I was overdubbing on top of Andrea Boccelli. It was recorded on a phone and not through a DAW, or maybe I should go through a DAW and remaster it. How does it work for YT nowadays?

So what do you do - in the video above it was definitely the recording. I did noticed that in the copyright - the music publishers are stated. How do you do that? I've seen also some covers where the publishers are stated even if the original recording is not in the audio. Does YT do that for you or they asked permission.

The user has to ask permission.

My sire was made in Indonesia, it's an awesome bass, easy to play with a powerful preamp, maybe the best bass I've ever had, I'm trying to get a 5 string.

No question that there are quality basses coming out of Indonesia. My SR655 is one; very well made and totally gig and recording worthy.

I honestly didn't know Fender had an Indonesian line. When I see Fender on the headstock I figure it's from one of three countries. USA, Japan or Mexico. Am I missing something here about the bass in the OP?

Edit: yes I forgot Korean Jazz bass 24 & Zone basses.

Considering CorTek and other guitar manufacturers make something like 90% of all instruments sold worldwide and there's plenty of good sounding music being made all around the world I'd be inclined to say yeah, they make quality perfectly usable stuff. And players too, look at that guy go!

I've a CV 70s Jazz and just inherited my guitar's players stable cause he's going abroad. The Squier CV stratocaster and the Harley Benton Single cut guitars play circles around the MIM Fender blacktop telecaster. It's not even close.

These days it’s hard to know where most popular cars are being built. Some are made in Thailand, some in South Africa and some in Argentina and from what I’ve heard and even some Mercedes are made in America.
If the instruments are being made to spec the only thing you need to worry about is quality control. If that is in place and functioning as it should it doesn’t matter where the merchandise is made.

These kids seem to play so slowly even on the faster licks look pretty relaxed. There is a similar comment about the Australian rally/raid motorcyclist Toby Price made by one of his team during his early days racing enduro and the Finke Classic, "his bike is so still and he is so still it looked like he was going slower than everyone else". Very high levels of talent seem to almost defy logic.

And the big question; would I go and see a Black Sabbath tribute band when all the members are 12 and under?
