Ghost Piezo Pickup Issues

I bought a used Washburn AB40 archtop (Stu Hamm model), but it has had a grounding issue with one of the Ghost pickups that I've not been able to solve. The ground wire beneath the unit seems fine and makes contact, but the part that the string passes over -- the saddle itself -- still has issues. When I touch it the ground buzz returns. In addition, I have not figured out how these saddles are to be adjusted for intonation -- they don't slide in the grooves, as far as I can tell.

I'd welcome some advice from someone more experienced with these bridges than I am! I'm tempted to pitch them altogether and replace them, but I'm not sure of what would be a better set to use with this bass.
