Ive used boomers before because they dont cost a ton and are easy to get here in michigan. They are ok strings but those pressure wounds look great, i may need to try a set.

I have Pressurewounds on my two shortscales and my Jazz Bass. I will soon have them on my fretless Precision. Great sounding strings which are smooth enough to use on either fretless or fretted. Sit somewhere between a flat and round in sound.

From my experience, they are much closer to rounds than flats. I've tried several different grounds as well, and they are much closer to a balance of the two, but get closer to flats as they deaden.

Pressurewounds are awesome. The store I usually buy them at was out so I was forced to get some Smith roundwounds. A fine string as far as roundwounds go, but I miss the pressurewounds...

I installed these a few days ago and like them a lot. I had Ken Smith Compressors on for a couple months before and they were OK, but felt flimsy and tone wasn't as beefy as the GHS. I'm working through a few other brands to see how they compare. My all time favorite strings for my Fender Jazz are Status Groundwounds. Fantastic feel and tone. I'll go back to them if nothing else measures up.

Put on a .40-.102 set yesterday. Big and punchy sound, prescent yet not strident highs and smooth feel. I think these are my favorite rounds now.

How do these compare to D'Addario Half Rounds in terms of feel and tension?

I have Status ground wounds on my Steinberger Spirit and they have transformed that bass. I have D'Addario haf rounds on a Yamaha BB425 and I like the tension and I got the extra length to go through body,but as they've aged, they're much thumpier and flat like than the Status ground wounds.

What I'd really like is for GHS Pressure Wounds to be similar to the Status strings and have length option to go through body on the Yamaha. Anybody know?

Pressurewounds are going to be a bit brighter than your half or ground wounds, due to them being roller wound in the winding process over having the outside ground smooth. It won't be a lot, but definitely a bit more; new Pressurewounds remind me of dead nickels, and the Brite Flats start where broken-in Pressurewounds sit.

If you want something closer to the Status strings, you'd need to look at our Brite Flats, which are ground wounds. And unfortunately right now, neither the Pressurewounds nor Brite Flats come in a scale length long enough for through-body stringing.

I'm working on that issue.

From what I've found and calculated (so please bear that in mind, since I'm not an expert in this), for the M7200 set, it breaks down to this:

PWB44 - 44.56
PWB62 - 48.7
PWB84 - 46.5
PWB106 - 45.6

That would be great. I'm one of those that need lower tension strings, and a list on your website would incline me to buy more of your strings I'm sure....
