Yes I was tempted, it is quite tight on the taper though. I've emailed the shop anyway, see what they say.

For what it's worth, I have the same bass as you (SWB1) and had a similar issue with Dunlop flats... well, similar only in the sense that in my case I messed up measuring from ball to nut and ordered short scale flats assuming they'd be fine... and they weren't. User error for me, anyway. Upshot was I then remeasured the bass properly this time and looked up the ball-to-silk lengths of ALL brands of short scale flats. What I found was that for most brands, the SWB is more of a medium scale than short scale bass in terms of string length (not fretboard length, to be clear... I mean the length of strings you need for the silk to clear the nut).

Thanks. I can't fault the SWB1. The quality of workmanship in this price range is second to none. The only niggle I have with it is it's bloody heavy, which means no neck dive though. You can't have everything.

Yes, I've been ordering medium scale too usually from a UK supplier but since brexit things have been going missing. I already had 1 set go AWOL but Amazon reimbursed me.
Medium scale flats here in Greece seem more or less non existent that was why I went with the GHS. Ah well live and learn.

I made a similar mistake with GHS short scale flats and a Fender Mustang. The product blurb said they fit "30-31" scale. Well, they were much too short; needed medium scale. GHS took good care of me.
