Gianni has incredible technique, I have never seen any bassist do that kind of stuff.....
It's still hard to use it in a musical context, but.. I think he may get there. Maybe he should trim it down a bit during most of the parts of his songs (check out all his youtube vids) and then add a solo or a melodic part here or there. I just think he has a lot of notes going on in his head which translates to his songwriting. It's amazing enough he can play his ideas... Maybe he needs a bit more Abe Laboriel "thinking", high on groove during the major parts of the song and then rip it during a solo.
