So does anyone use their Gibson as their one and only bass? I'm waiting on my Gibson SG bass to come in and wondering if it'll be good enough to be the ONLY bass I end up owning (if I decide to sell off my other bass).

I've been using my LPDC bass exclusively for almost two years. Then I went to a 5-string land. Now I use Gibson as my main 4-stringer, 1/3 of my whole playing time. Never owned an SG bass, but LPDC is an absolutely versatile professional-grade instrument: I can totally imagine it can be the one and only bass if I decide to sell off my herd.
Dug up some old pictures of my EB-2 - with pickguard:

Just picked up a 1992 Gibson Les Paul 5er today.... It took 2 hours to get it in playable shape (truss rod, saddle adjustments, new strings and a good cleaning).... Holy crap it this a killer bass!
THE loudest bass I have ever owned.... And I have owned lots.... Louder than my Bongo HH 5er by far. Crazy output!
The Bart PU and Preamp are just killer.... Tons of punch and the bass cut surprisingly well at rehearsal tonight.
Totally impressed with this 20 year old Gibson! I think I like it more than my 2011 LP Oversized.....

My first bass was a 1966 EBO.
I've always loved that Jack Bruce & Felix Pappalardi tone.
Only Gibson I have left is a 100% original 1960 EBO.
The Les Paul Jr. shape body, one of 342 made.
It has the best sounding pickup I've ever heard.
Have not used it in years, if anyone is looking for this I may let it go.

Official leathers tester and crash dummy
Mine is an EB-2dc, so it's the same color but has two pickups. I really like the pickguard, cover, and mute. Mine originally had all of those, but they were long gone when I got it 30 years ago. Oh, well. eBay is the source for all obsolete things, I guess.

I have a 92 LP 5er and a new Oversized..... My pics look like yours.... But for some reason, in person, the OS is MUCH bigger a bass!
What is your impression of the OS? I love mine... But the '92 LP with active Barts does actually sound better....

The pickup switch isn't working right, I can can get either pickup in those positions but only the neck pickup works in the middle posion. Other than that, pure heaven.
It weighs 10.4 lbs. It is way louder than the special.
I think it is very comfortable to play when sitting. I haven't strapped it. I rarely stand up when playing.
The nut isn't very wide on the standard. The neck profile is like a round Les Paul 6 stringer. The nut is about the same on the special, but the neck doesn't seem quite as thick.
I love 'em both. Tonal range on these basses is a mile wide. The special has oodles of sustian but the standard has sustain from now on.
