Gibson EB-3 restoration....

The one time I removed a fingerboard I used a standard putty or pallet knife and an iron. It was some junk Chinese kit neck with some type of nearly epoxy like adhesive that just didn’t want to release and I took a sliver of neck wood out. In this case not a big deal. In your case that would suck.

Stew Mac came out with this a year later and I bought one for the next time. StewMac Fretboard Removal Wedge - StewMac

For the asking price I’m sure it will do better than a putty knife since you can draw it towards you.

No idea where in mid Michigan you are but I’m supposed to go to the Attica/Imlay city area next weekend.

I'm in Midland. West of Bay City

Yeah, like I have stated. I'm in no hurry to get this bass done. I know the video you are talking about.
I'm about to commit to getting the fretboard off. @Matt Liebenau ask me to document it. So I was getting everything ready for that.
But I have a Spring honey-do list a mile long. Happy wife, happy something or other.
I found this on reverb.

Get your honey involved! Take it slow and steady and yes the fretboard needs documentation I'm anxious to see it!

My feelings on all this Gibson harness stuff is its not needed at all and wow you have lots of choices for configuration...I'm anxious to see it unfold ha ha.

StewMac Truss Rod Rescue Tool Sets - StewMac few years back i bought & saved a 75 gibson grabber. Also had a busted truss rod nut. Got one of these tools from stewmac, & while i may have needed to dig deeper into the channel, I think i saved it to the best of its capabilities (without having to remove the board, the maple strip, & fabricate a new rod for it & a new maple strip/insert).

@Defineredefine, a choke is an inductor coil wound to certain specs, & it acts as a midrange variation (or depending how its wired into the circuit. Ripper basses had it as a mid control voicing. "Scooped to open"). All passive.

I’m a little late to this but I like this pro tones guy I’ve had a couple harnesses made by him one of which was the varitone style with powered choke and it’s been great!!

I got to spend some time on the EB.
I discovered they put bondo on the bridge bots.

Then I cleaned up the odd cut cavity under the bridge area. I have some cherry that matches up. And for the deeper little route I'll most likely plug will some maple.

Then Rufus needed a walk.
