Hey, you are right. IMO what drives these prices are the Japanese owned Gibsons from the 80'. They are up for sale for loads of cash. If this wasn't bad enough, on Reverb, there are some trying to sell epi's for 800 bucks. Now, folks gotta understand one thing: putting something up for sale at a price is one thing, getting it sold is a completely another issue. And that satin one at Reverb is, according to another memeber here, the inferior line.
This was the response I got from a seller on Reverb when I was asking if the bass was a custom shop or something because they typically sell for 900-1100 used and if it was the production model why this particular one is worth 3x the price.
