Heres my 75 Grabber
The duck tape looks stupid but it keeps that pickup steady while I'm swinging this beast around

anyone have a wine red grabber they could sell me? :)

Regarding cases, it's important to note that the Ripper body profile changed slightly in 1975. '73-'74 basses have a slightly wider body and will not fit into 1975 and later cases.

Not sure if this is also true of the Grabbers. Does anyone here own a '74 Grabber with the wide body profile?

I think we should give this club some more life! Should we post our favorite Gibson Grabber/Ripper/G3 artists? I know mine will forever be Eddie Breckenridge of Thrice-he has 2 natural Grabbers, a wine red Grabber and a custom Grabber he made himself, its walnut and mahogany! All his basses have badass2 bridges on em and hipshot drop tuners to cover their wide variety of sounds/tunings/styles.
He uses an Ampeg B15 in the studio and a Svt Classic and 8x10 live. For effects he uses the line6 m13. Check him and the other guys out :)

My band did a live recording at a gig recently. I was running my grabber into my svt/8x10 with the cab mic'd with my heil pr40. Arguably not my best show (actually it was a little sloppy all around) but the bass tone was pretty decent. I find the grabber/G3 basses really sing with a pick, though I prefer finger style and very rarely use a pick. Anyways, the whole show is up here in case anyone wanted to check it out.

It does sound good, nice tone & sits nice in the mix.

Cool. The SoundCloud clips sound much nicer than the YouTubes I saw.

Found an interesting black Grabber in Montreal-interesting because its had some peculiar work done…the horns on each side have been smoothed out and a lil bit shortened and the headstock has been split and re-glued. Everything is functional. The guy wants $200 for it. Its definitely your total beater Grabber and I doubt I’ll ever be able to sell it off (could prolly sell it’s OHSC for decent $$ if I were so inclined) but 200 bucks is something I couldn’t turn down…thoughts?

Interesting. I'm assuming the truss rod was replaced? Otherwise I doubt people that don't know the basses would ever know that something was amiss. It would look like a grabber to them, and I'm sure it will sound like a grabber. For $200 that's not too bad. Definitely wouldn't expect much on resale though.
