Gibson Les Paul Bass

I do love me a Gibson. Never had a chance to try out a Les Paul bass but I would love to have a go. And let's not forget the coolest man in rock n roll sports one..

would be true, except Eddie's is a Guild (at least it was the last time I saw him).

I got this one in '87 for HS Graduation and stupidly sold it.

Then found it (the exact bass) again 20+ years later and bought it back. (before/after in front of the same set of stairs)

after reading this thread last week I decided to take her out to practice last week, first time I've plugged her in in 20 years.
It doesn't really work for what I currently play (and the amp(s) I use), but I'm exstatic to have her home & I'll never let her go again.

Heres my B Gees (brothers Gibb) Les Paul satin on the right, with its little brother on the left! The Les Paul is one of the greatest sounding basses I own. (my favorite).

This is an Epiphone, but look at it ! This pic is from when I had just picked it up from a guy off craigslist. I've since changed the knobs to black Gibson speed knobs.

From my understanding in the early 90's Gibson DID use Warwick bridges, and this is as it was from the factory. This is an incredible sounding bass, and I wish it wasn't so rare so I wouldn't care if I messed it up by playing!!!

Only a few years that I am aware of. There were 2 different models. Mine has the arched 'carved' top and the other version was a flat topped Les Paul with Bartolini pickups and a 'standard' one piece bridge. Mine has the active pickups too, but have the nickel plated covers on the pickups. The tone of this bass is VERY surprising. I used it on a CD I did for a friend. The song is called Chip and a Chair by Booze Monkey. BLUE is the artist I recorded for on that album and he just wanted me to 'play' with his song, so that was my result and he used my first take, I wish he wouldn't have because my timing wasn't optimal in the 'break' part of the song. Oh well.
