Gibson Midtown Club.

I got my Novak pickups in last week. Also put on a Hipshot bridge and a set of TI jazz flats. I am very pleased. The Midtown now has a great, versatile tone - a huge upgrade in my opinion.
Can you describe the difference in the stock bridge pickup vs the Novak bridge pickup? I'm thinking of getting one of those and would be curious to hear your opinion. Or sound samples if you can do that. Thx!

Thank you sir, may I have a number? Loving the Midtown more each passing day.

I got to play my new Midtown at band rehearsal last night. Absolutely love it! Great tone and playability. Fits great in our mix. I think I would like a balance knob instead of the three way switch but I'm gonna leave it just the way it is. I used the middle setting for both pickups most of the time.

I finally gave my Midtown a Complete setup today. I use Allen wrenches to set string and pickup heights on all of my basses. I had to take some relief out of the truss Rod and I had to lower the bridge a few turns. Right now string height is set at 9/64 at the twelfth fret with no buzzing of any kind. I'm going to wait and see if the neck moves any more before adjusting any further. Rear pickup poles are set at 3/32 and front pickup poles are set at 7/16 so far. I have band rehearsal tonight and I'll adjust overall pickup height to get a good balance string to string and pickup to pickup. As far as action goes, I'd like to have the string heights @ 7/64 as I do on all of my other basses. I'll adjust more in a few days when the neck has settled in.

The setup I did was a complete success. Plays like butter and sounded amazing at last nights acoustic show. I really am contemplating replacing the three way switch with a blend. It just seems like it would give more tone options.
