Gibson SG bass...weight?

I played one and found it rather light. Didn't really think about it as that was what I expected. Remember, the body is not the same depth as a Fender or many other basses. My original EBO (effectively the same design and mahog neck & body as the SGs) weighed just short of 7 lb. With the short neck, it was like wearing nothing. ;)

FWIW, my 2007 SG Supreme weighs 7.8 lbs, just checked it. It may be a little different than a typical SG bass though, as it has a flamed maple top instead of being all mahogany. But go on Sweetwater's site, they have SG basses in stock with actual weights listed for the instruments they have available.
