I bet it was. My kids loved playing it on Guitar Hero. Although a bit inappropriate, they loved it as much as I did.

A local amp maker snob took over my spot in our band and loved it so much that instead of building his own snob cab he bought mine. I thought that rather funny. They are incredibly Loooow.....

I've been messing with the old style Gibson EB's, and newer SG basses since late 1969. I play with D'Addario ETB92S Nylon Tapewounds.

You're right on at 28 HZ for the Heritage SVT-410HLF cab. The 610, and 410 don't go as low as the 410 does.

I am glad man because you will adore this bass. Just do not expect it to be anything like your Rick's. Totally different little bastard but super cool none the less. A piece of 1961 US history with a very cool retro hard case included. Great deal.

Those neck pick ups are almost worth the money alone. A short scale is allright. I saw Paul McCartneys band member use one when he played piano or guitar. Sounded nice and deep to me.

No Sir, I was referring to the 2014 Walnut Thunderbird I just received. Toy buying is officially over now according to the wife. So I am damned thrilled that I was able to sneak in an SG and Thunderbird before I got in trouble. The Thunderbird is fricken awesome but in a different way than the SG. I love them both and can't say which one I would give up if I had to choose. On second thought I will never give up either one except to the Grim Reaper. Then my kids can fight over them but seriously I would rather give up my left, no wait, right nut to keep both of these USA masterpieces!!! oh.....and yes Fenders are incredible however they can't match this weird mystical Gibson magic that their axes create. I believe it has to be in the wood choices. Simply explainable.

Fenders are awesome but after goin to Gibson idk if I'll ever go back.im not a fan of the thunder bid at all. I mean I respect the instrument and your thoughts and opinions on it but I've tried a couple out and it's just not for me. I'm about to buy another SG though

I just changed out the ETB92S Nylons, for ETB92M Nylons on the short scale SG Spl. The tension feels a bit better, they fit good, and play great.

I use earnie ball cobalt rounds.seems just fine to me on my SG.

Recently I picked up a 2014 Gibson Sg USA with a case for 500$. Basically it's brand new. I'm all about fender but I just couldn't let this deal slip away and as a collector I had a desire for a Gibson bass for some time now. I'm used to 34 inch scales that typical fenders have. The sg has a shorter 30 inch scale. Playing it their really wasn't to much of a difference and it was actually a little more comfortable. Personally I just have it in my head that bass necks should be long and I'd feel like I'm kinda cheating by using a short scale. Probably sounds stupid and maybe it's just in my own head. But I'm really enjoying this bass and as I have stated how I'm a loyalist to fender, buying and using a Gibson is EVERYTHING BUT. We're the EB series or the sg series always short scale? I would like to know some history on these basses and comments,opinions,info, whatever. Please leave a post that is mature and not insulting or dramatizing.

I'm relatively new to the brand but have really been impressed by not only the SG models but also the TBird and EB4 models. Here's my current line up...

In 2007 Gibson made a limited run of instruments each week. The blonde SG Supreme and the Lavaburst SG Supreme were each one of 400 basses made during different weeks in 2007. The Tbird is from 2013 and was unique to that year. The EB4 was a first year run of the new EB model and I think the first 5 string ever made by Gibson - it's a tone monster! Unfortunately it was discontinued after only a 2 year run.
Enjoy your SG, they are great basses, best short scale on the market!
