The Reunion Blues is also very good by all accounts, (though I don’t know from my own experience) and may be the closest thing to a universal solution for day-to-day use and air travel.
In most instances, though, I think you need to compromise on the side of the conditions you encounter the most. A case that works well for air travel and shipping will usually be too heavy and cumbersome for daily use, and vice versa.
The best conceptual solution for both I’ve come across is the SKB Roto case (sometimes known as the Bass Safe), which is a wheeled hardshell case you can put a gig bag into. However, great as this idea is, SKB’s execution is flawed - very few quality gig bags will actually fit inside, and the closure system is its achilles heel, frequently breaking in transit. But if SKB redesigned it to work properly, it would be more or less ideal.
