I've done it, (long ago) many members here also do it. All depends on the amp, the venue, the type of music, etc etc.

I gigged with an Ampeg B2 4x8 combo for 7+ years. Granted, it often got miked or run into the board at bigger venues, but for most bar gigs it cut through just fine.

I used an Ampeg B100r many times; usually with PA.

Sure. That's not the least bit unusual...

I gig with a couple of Nemesis combo amps - the NC210 for small gigs, the NC410 for mid-sized gigs. Using the direct out on the rear panel, plus a good PA, one could play practically any size venue with one of these babies.

In days of yore I gigged with my Line 6 LD175 (do the 25 watts really make a difference?). It was enough at the time. We were young, foolish, broke, and have since upgraded, though we are still quite young.

Yes sir, I gig with my Mesa 12" Walkabout Scout. I have an extension cab, but I've never used it... That little combo is just amazing. Loud as a bomb and sweet as sugar.

And we're playing stuff along the lines of AC/DC, Zeppelin, Nazareth, Jet and the Black Crowes, so we're kickin' it!

  10. I gig with an Acoustic B200, though that will be changing soon hopefully.

Yes, I have seen several guys in clubs using combos with 2 10s, or 4 10s.

Nothing wrong with combos, especially the upper end combos.

I've used Peavey Combo 300 for small bar gigs ...and it's just fine ...best part about it ... it fit's in the trunk of my car, although the thing is just a bit heavy at the end og the gig

I see it all the time, especially places with decent PA support.

All combo amps are NOT created equal. Some are definitely gig worthy, while others are not - depends on the gig.

I use an Ampeg BA 115 for every thing. It's built like a tank and can hold up to any venue I've played. It lacks some deffinition in the mids, but i have never had any complaints.

I gigged exclusively with my Warwick CCL 115 combo for about 4 years. I miss the compact nature of the combo, but with the gigs I'm playing now, it would be about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Definitely depends on the dynamic of the gig.
