Gigantor! the 7 string behemoth... for Ahtur

So, Ahtur is probably dying of a heart attack 'no build thread! things must be going awry!'. Not really, I just haven't had much time.

Here are the specs:
7 string
35” scale, fretted, 24 frets
Humbucking pickups w/wooden covers (stacked on the bridge, split on the neck positions)
Custom body shape, basically a very wide (17") KSC
Audere 3 band z-mode preamp with bypass
Matching headstock veneer
2-2.5” thick chambered basswood body (may be 3 pieces)
Birdseye maple neck (1 piece)
ziricote fingerboard
Quilted redwood Top wood
Fingerboard face dots
Fingerboard binding
Side mounted jack
Setneck construction
Wenge accent layer
Cocobolo layer on mid body layer (3 piece) on the back, or birdseye maple capped back.

Here's what I have so far:

Pete. For some reason people often call me Paul, but you're the the first to do it online, Wilsner. ;)

How 'bout that binding?

that was totally uncalled for! it was an honest mistake on my part but you do it as retaliation, that's just cold, cold man, cold. ;)

We'll use something light colored for the binding, birdseye maple likely.

I look forward to seeing the finished bass being played, or at least held. These pictures only marginally show how big the bass will be. Subscribed :)

Yes, it's big! Ahtur designed it based off of my KSC but made it bigger to feel more like an archtop than a bass guitar.

Fat-bottomed girls! Love it!

you can't go wrong with a big bottom, using soft woods and chambering like this should be a low-hump beast...like Ahtur said "I'll be able to pick up the grease off the floor with a piece of bread".
