arm contour? Ha! No arm contour for me lol my accoustic is even deeper. I've got a Michael Kelly 5 string. Remember now I used to have an archtop guitar, a $eritage Golden Eagle that was the full 17" wide and 3" deep. The bass is 16.5 wide and 2.75 deep. Look at the pic of me holding it. I'm 6 3" with veeeeery long arms.

Actually the idea was not mine, J. Dahlman, a friend of Ahtur's which I finally met at one of the NoVA GTGs showed me his 9 string I think it was Stambaugh that had medium and smaller frets from the 12th fret or something like that. Ahtur wanted the same thing, and while I was getting ready to fret the fingerboard I looked at my three tubes of fretwire and went "hmmm". that's about it. Just seemed logical and should make playability, action and setup much better.

The Man Himself is In the Building! That's right Wil I had forgotten that Stambaugh. Its his 8 and its on Chris' page. Its a beautiful playing instrument, balance, tone and setup and weight. And its gorgeous to look at.

That fingerboard looks amazing!!! I love the dot offset on the octaves. Kind of a weird balance from imbalance effect. Perfect!
