Anybody ever order strings from gimmesomestrings.com?

Yesterday, I realized I needed some strings for this weekend and I needed them fast. So I found this shop, which is only about 100mi from me. I ordered 2 sets, so I’d have a spare, hoping to have them asap.

The owner of the place reached out to let me when he got the order to let me know he only had one set in stock. Unfortunately, I didn’t see his email til 7pm and I assumed we’d missed the mail, so I told him not to worry about it and just cancel the order since I likely wouldn’t get them in time.

Instead, he dropped what he was doing, packaged the set of strings he had and drove them to a USPS office that had an 8pm pickup. He got them there at 7:58.

My strings were sitting in my PO Box at 9am this morning. Amazing! I posted earlier this week about good customer service and I feel the need to do it again. It means so much to know there are good guys out there who stand behind what they do.

Indeed. I know this won’t get 10 pages of response like the Guitar Center complaint threads do. But I like knowing about the guys who are doing it right so I want to spread the word when I come across a good dude.

I found him on Reverb but I’ll buy direct next time so he can avoid all the fees. He’s physically located in Alexandria, VA which is just outside DC.

That’s good to hear. Anytime someone goes above and beyond, I want to give them props wherever I can.

Yep, I've ordered several sets from them. It's one of the few places I can find SIT Foundations in stainless steel. Good prices and very reliable service.

Wow! I was going to use them a couple weeks ago because they seem to have the lowest prices but couldn't find anything about them on here or elsewhere so didn't really trust it. Good to know for future reference. Thanks.

I buy from them as much as I can, super fast shipping and the packing slip always has a handwritten "Thank you" on it. That's the kind of thing that would make me search on their store page on Reverb for strings I need rather than sort the search results by lowest price and buy the first listing that came up.

I just dropped 35 bucks on a set of D'Addario NYXL five string super long scales for my Lakland. Hope they're awesome!

They're in Alexandria. So yeah, just a few hours away. I live on the shore and everything was received next day via standard mail. That's better than Amazon!
