Gimmicks, gadgets, gizmos that WORK - found any?

The Iron Gym Xtreme. Hasn't hurt my doorways, held up to my weight easily when I was still 206, has helped out my workouts immensely.

Probably the stronger cleanser I've ever used. Works on damn near anything in a bathroom. The smell can get really funky though...

Welcome to the world of sulfuric acid :p

I remember a single time where it hasn't worked. I was working at a summer camp in Maine and a septic tank pump had jammed. It was the showers' tank, so I thought, "no biggie, I'll just give it a normal shot of drain opener". It was entirely made of cast iron, anyway. After a good flushing of the said substance, the motor was still only buzzing without movement, so I had to service it entirely. When I opened it, I discovered a plug of hair that had been curiously attacked by the acid. It was so dense that after a 15 minute exposition the dangerous substance, it had its top half bleached blonde, and the bottom half still black :p

EDIT: my bad, The Works use hydrogen chloride, not sulfuric acid. That means it doesn't smell that bad.

Yeah the place I work at sells a lot of that "Works." they have a whole line of Works products, the one shown is just cleaner, they do have a drain cleaner. http://www.theworkscleans.com/toiletcleaner.html

Gel Gloss polish. It's made for fiberglass "faux" marble counter tops but it takes the scratches out of just about anything. Test in an inconspicuous spot first. Will dull aluminum and leave swirl marks on dark colored cars. Otherwise, works great. Use it regularly. Can thin it with water. Great on chrome, polished aluminum rims, glass, especially auto glass so that rain sheets off.

JB Weld. I JB welded a key ring to the electronic car key fob
door opener when it busted. Saved me 100+ bucks. My
dealer laughs when I hand him the keys. So do I.

Kroil. This stuff penetrates rusted bolts better than anything.
So good it is banned in 25 states and Kalifornia.

Finn Crisp. Yeah, the ultimate platform for cheese.

The Original Barge cement. Cobbler's rubber cement, made in
Buffalo NY iirc. Don't see it around much anymore, just like
cobblers.

Indomethacin. Really knocks out that pesky gout.

Parker ballpoint pens. Great pens, never leak, smooth action.
You need to know how to write to appreciate this one though.

EZ Pass. All your tolls on one bill for Big Bro to inspect.

Cottage Cheese. Though why someone would eat something
with the consistency of something scraped off a frat house
lounge is beyond me.

Infommercials. The best sleep aid known to man.

Spam. Yeah, the real kind. Official State Food of the State
of Hawaii. You only go around once in life, so go big.

Virginia Slims. You are so sexy when I am downwind.

Altoids. Great Britain's most extreme export since the Mersey Beat.

My Cellphone. I feel so connected when I pay that 200 dollar
phone bill.

If you have a dog that's hard to walk because they're strong enough to drag you whichever direction THEY want to go, buy a "Gentle Leader". It actually works! Every time the dog tries to bolt, his snout gets pulled towards the floor. He can't see where he's going so he stops pulling. Eventually they stop pulling all together. And the best part is it doesn't hurt the dog at all.

Healthy Hoof nail stuff by Gena.

Apparently this stuff was/is actually for horses but it's great for keeping nails. I play classical guitar as well as bass and also teach high school wood shop - I've tried a bunch of nail strengtheners and hardeners and for me this is the only one that works. It's on A-zon.
