Girl Bass Player Club, part 2

I think a girl bass player can be a very optimistic position theres no need to assume males can only handle the position. one of my favorites, all that remains, has a woman for a bass player. i was a little bit surprised to find this out but i have only gained respect for the band

This is exactly what happened in the last thread and every guy that posts here should go find something else to do.

The answer lies in the post I put in the last thread. One of you become a mod with full power to temporarily ban members who keep coming into the ladies room uninvited.

Khronic is worse than a troll because he just insulted all of you with that statement and he should be gone from the forum for a couple weeks after a thread trashing post like that.

Anyway... enough of that malarkey.

I've just seen a photo of Wanda Ortiz playing Fender's Steve Harris signature bass (or at least something that looks very much like it). She's tiny, and makes me feel like a real wimp for playing Ibanez SR's and short scales...

if you see a post you find to be inappropriate, don't post about it, just report it and otherwise IGNORE it. there's a red triangle with a vertical black bar by every post, just click it and give a reason why you think that post is questionable, and it will go directly to the moderators of a particular forum.

posting complaints doesn't help and only increases the work we (site administration and moderators) have to do.

so please - Report and Ignore.

please remember some folks are not native english speakers, and some concepts don't necessarily translate directly.

It's actually a G and L.....but she is a fantastic player....but she does kinda look like a plus symbol standing on stage...lol

Seen them live a few times and she absolutely Kills it!

I think what Panda meant here was (And this is very true in my part of the country) It's hard enough to find a great bassist....add female to the mix and you can pretty much write your own ticket...

Another of my favorite Bass players is Georgina Prebble but better Known as Grog!! and May not be on many people's radar here in the U.S. (She plays Piano too!!)

She played Bass for the Spice Girls, Kelly Osbourne, and Has fronted Flinch, Feline, Ultraviolet and finally Die So Fluid

She also Plays a G&L and resembles a plus on Stage..lol

Thanks for that pic! I didn't see the headstock so I guessed it must be the Fender. Love that finish.

Being a girl (although not a very girly one) I'm naturally drawn to sparkly things. I'm considering getting a Mikey Way mustang... not really a fan of his but that bass looks so damn cool.

loopee i apologize for the misunderstanding i meant no disrespect to women musicians anywhere and my vulgar comment was uneccessary and uncalled for. i appreciate all you do to promot women involvement in music everywhere :)
