Hey i just wanna know what do you think of girls that play bass... ive met a few people who like them and a few that dont and im interested in hearing what you guys (or girls if there are any ) think.

I think, IMO, women bass players are sexy as all get out . I am a big fan of Tina Weymoth from the Heads. Suzy Quatro was another kick ass Female player. I was suprised to find Sheryl Crow on a MM bass.

I personally know a few girls that play bass (my own daughter for starters). I really don't see the significance of gender as relates to playing the bass. A bass player is a bass player, and gender is a moot point. I'd wager that the few people you've met who don't like female bassists are more than likely kids (or immature teens at best). I respect musicians for their musicianship, and not because they happen to have a goatee and chest hair (then again, I've met some women with goatees and chest hair... but that's a whole other thread which would more than likely get shut down very quickly). So anyhow, girl bassists are cool! Are you a girl bassist?

P.S. If you use the search function, you'll find a few "female bassists" threads within these forums.

I agree that a bass player isn't defined by gender...I know a couple women that can hang with the best of the fellas.
