Girlfriends or wives getting hit-on at gigs?

We were playing a gig at a local dive. The wives were out in force, having a good time listening to the music.

There was a Very Drunk Guy who spoke broken English at best. He was loving the music and really getting down. He came over to us between sets and told us he was really loving the music.

We started the second set and then he started hitting on the women.

It was amusing to watch...and then he got to hitting on the singer's wife.

Did I mention that she was seven and a half months pregnant at the time?

It happened between songs and our singer called over from the stage.

"Amigo."

Very Drunk Guy turned to him.

The singer gives a small shake of his head and points to himself -- a very clear "she's mine". Oh, and the singer stands 6'5" and 300+ pounds.

Very Drunk Guy held his hands up and backed off. Priceless.

My girlfriend is the singer of a punk rock band. When I set up multi-band shows I often book her band along with ours. We were playing a show in March and while her band was playing I was out at my car having a few beers.

I guess some douche kept trying to talk to her between songs. She had him buy the band 2 pitchers of guiness.

I made my way inside before they finished and was up in the front of the crowd. The first thing she did when their set was over was run up and give me a huge kiss.

During our set the douche walks by us on his way out the door and yells out "you guys suck". Jealous much?
Im a little jealous...lol.

I kind of enjoy it when guys hit on my wife at gigs. I trust her completely and we get a big laugh out of it later. Plus I like being married to a lady that other guys think is hot LOL

Bingo... trust goes a long way in a relationship with a musician. Works both ways.. musicians are often focuses of attention for the chicks in the crowd, so what matters is how you (or your wife) handles it. My wife has come to a few of my gigs, whenever a guy makes for her, she let's them know.. only one was too persistent, but he was drunk and causing trouble all night so he was thrown out. :)

I trust my gf completely, but it still bothers me a tad when other guys hit on her at gigs. Only a tad, though.

What's more disturbing is when the girls hit on her! One of the last gigs, she started grinding with one, and it was difficult to play the bass because the activity on the dance floor was so "interesting."

(pedro stares, rubs eyes in disbelief that anybody would have a problem with the above.)

I married this...

Go ahead,hit on her!!!

Don't no one get too upset, but I'm also a drummer. A few years ago I was playing drums at a gig, and I saw a guy hitting on my girlfriend at the time. I am the jealous type, but practice tolerance. Anyhow, I could tell she was telling the guy that she's with the drummer cuz she was pointing at me. The guy started to force her to dance, and she looked uncomfortable and he was touching her. I got so angry, and without thinking I threw my drum stick and nailed him right in head (without missing a beat.) It was pretty funny. A great shot too, considering the dance floor was packed and the guy was on the other end.

Ever since it's been an ongoing joke. "Don't mess with him, he's got a drum stick."

So, I can very much understand getting jealous. It is a compliment tho, my current girl is beautiful. I tell her, "I understand why all the guys hit on you, you are absolutely captivating." She falls for it every time. Ha. But we did talk about it, and she knows how it makes me feel. Basically, guys are going to hit on her. As long as she tells them she's with me, and they leave her alone, I'm fine.

That guy was a jerk. Trying to force her to dance when she clearly didn't want to is over the line. He deserved the drumstick to the head that he received!

When a lady says "no", she means no. He may have a better understanding of that concept, now.

No girlfriend right now. But girls that I invite to the show get hit on all the time. One time at a smaller club gig, a drunk chick lunged onto the stage and mauled my lead guitarist. Then fell off the stage, threw up, and started scream-crying.

You need a "Drunk Chain"!

There used to be this great outdoor venue nearby...gone now. But when we all used to play there, my husband's guitarist was always getting assaulted, for lack of a better word, by this drunk chick. She was *always* wasted at the show, and she ran up on stage after this guy (who was married) every gig. She was a real problem, because she wouldn't leave him alone, and got combative when attempts were made to remove her from the stage.

So, the venue owner strung a heavy chain across the front of the stage, about 6 inches off the ground.

Drunk Girl runs up to attach herself to the guitarist...trips over the chain...WHAM!!! She kisses the stage!!!

She never came back, and the chain kept others from trying to storm the stage in fits of misguided, drunken lustiness. Except for one girl who wanted to play tambo. She tried to fight her way up, so we accquainted her with The Drunk Tank. A metal stock tank filled with dirty water. Kept for the specific purpose of calming down combative drunks.

Chilled her right the heck out. Slimy, dirty, leaf-filled, cold water will do that to a person.
