GK Questions.

I started with the MB500 but upgraded to the MB800. It's the same price as the MBF500.
I love the heft of 800 watts even at low volumes. You can hear the difference.
I don't for a bi-amp rig and gig mostly with a 2x12 cabinet.

Thanks for your input, Definitely looking at 2x12 initially... still can't decide whether I want to go MB212-II or MB500 with 212 Neo. I think if the band got to a stage where we were playing much bigger shows I would change to a head/cab solution and use the combo for practice but I'm really not sure...

Looked at your links and seriously impressed, keep up the awesome work.

Somebody on TB put up a MB800 + 1-212 and 2-112 GK neo cabs for sale today.

The GK combos are great (I have an older MB210 I use for practice and low-volume situations - love it.) But for a serious gig rig, you should be considering the MB/MBF 500 & 800 series. Both are great and have a long track record.

For the difference in price and power, I went with an MB800, which has an improved preamp over the MB500. I use this with single or double 1x10 or 1x12 cabinets in combination depending on the venue and need. I used this outdoors last weekend with a 1x12 and a 1x10 and it just killed. (I also use a 1x15 cabinet at rehearsal; I think two stacked 1x15 cabs would be able to perform CPR at 10 paces! ;-)

To me, the MBF's sound very different from the MB's. Having played them side-by-side, I prefer the MB's, but that's just what I like. Make every effort you can to evaluate each before you make a decision.

I run MB Fusion 800 into KG neo 410... nothing else needs to be done to this thing, I even ditched using my OD pedal : | ... this is the beast rig.

I used to have MB800 and that amp is a killer as well.

I don't do grind... I do clean and present. Most of my gigs are on piezo basses with no mag pickups... Grind ain't yer friend on those... My MBF 500 does a wonderful warm but clear and present. Pretty cool that you can cover both of those styles out of one amp. Particularly one at that price point...

The more I play the MBF the more impressed I get.
