Well it's gettin to be that time again. Time for a new bass!

I'm pretty much set on the P/J Glaub, but wanted to ask this question:

If you could only play one bass for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

I plan on gettin my bass through Bass Central, and didn't see any DJ's for sale, so I'm keepin the poll to these two options.

FWIW I currently have a Fender '62 RI Jazz that I plan on keeping.

Yes it is a '65 P and has been with me since '83
A Glaub would be dirrernt than the J so you would find a use for them both

Lakland should be coming out with some version of a 5 string P bass sometime soon. I stood next to Dan and Brian and Jan 08 NAMM as they were watching the buzz over the 08 Fender P5. I got the feeling that it was already in the works, but this may have pushed things along a little. I'm hearing 35" scale. If your into 5ers, you may want to hold out for this.

I vote for the osborn. I am actually in the process of trading my glaub p/j for another osborn. The P/J was quiter, but I found the osborn to be more ballsy and aggressive.
Edit: my JO fretted has been my main bass since I got it. I had a bunch of them after a point so I traded one for a decade. Now, my main axe may have irreparable truss rod issues (from previous owners) so I'm getting it back by trading the p/j. so yea, i really like those osborns

Or just get a Lull.. He has been doing the 35" scale P for a long time

Hey that's the only other Black/Gold Wilkinson bridge I've seen on TB! . . . cool!!! :D

My ('69) P-J has been a go-to bass since '75 (have 3 Jazzes too) - MY DESERT ISLAND BASS

So - the P/J did not "do it for you" huh? Sorry to hear that!

That was my favorite bridge... it is still on there since '83. It was part of the 4-5 conversion kit. I didn't care for the spacing so I kept the 4 string bridge. I have another that the saddle don't match in a parts drawer...I LOVE them for Fenders
