Glitchenbacker, Experimental Entirely Lasercut Bass

Hey all.
So two blockers on this project.
1. Money to buy some parts
2. Finding laser plywood in big enough sizes
The second being the major issue.
I had been playing with the idea of a laser cut body, at least as a prototype for the methods I would use.

Honestly, just the fact that you're following through with the project is more than enough to get me excited, Ric-shaped or not!
And no, there is nothing wrong with using a bolt-on.
Thanks. So essentially my two options are carry on working with the Glitchenbacker design, which I still love. Even if its not neck though.
Or I have a go at something entirely different, for a laser cut only body.
Which I have only one idea for, a sort of folding hollow body hybrid I have been lovingly calling 'Precursor' as it is essentially a simpler design which allows for me to play with the technology a little. Essentially its entirely hollow, but then the f-holes are made from slits which form from two folding sections. Which gives it a tiny foot space until you fold the wings down into place forming an acoustic chamber.
Which if I am honest, is just as obscene an idea as the Glitchenbacker itself.
(If I am really super honest, I bought Scott Pilgrim vs The World on DVD recently, and its totally awesome and he plays a Ric, so kinda leaning back towards the Glitch)

Thinking I need to have more of a visible broken pattern from the front, which I can do due to the layers and using different thicknesses of material.

I post this with the best of intentions - but just thought the opening picture/example in this new thread was funny after you posting your super cool Glitchenbacker Fireglow :3 … I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone consider it 'ruined'.

So, here is my latest render, the main difference here is trying out a standard non-headless design. The head still retains the classic Rickenbacker 'curl' though.
Leaning towards black hardware, but white pick guard and truss rod cover. Though having looked at how expensive Rickenbacker pick up covers and bridges are I really need to think how I can get around those expenditures. The pickup covers I can probably laser cut from black acrylic, perhaps introducing a glitched shape. The bridge however, I have yet to think of a way around. Especially if I want to bridge to also be 'glitched.

I like this headstock, it looked a bit funny with the old one, are you still going with fanned frets?
