In university lab we iced goldfish to about 4 degrees Celsius to measure their respiration rates. Has nothing to do with global warning but it was fun.

I'm inclined to trust the science. I think people are making a normal warming trend much faster. I'm no scientist, but I do know that if I shut my car in the garage without opening the garage windows enough and leave it running, I will die. So it makes sense to me that we might have too many cars in the big Earthen garage, so to speak. Couple that with other pollution, and it seems very feasible to me that we may be accelerating a unpleasant, but otherwise normal change.

Scientists don't trust science.

Meh, cold blooded animals get cold and slow down and then they get warm again and are fine. They live in ponds all winter. Our Canadian fish in shallow lakes: it's a way of life.

Here's some nature at work doing its own nasty to the ocean. At any time these features can worsen or abate. Could it be that features like this may be on the increase causing havoc like dolphins and whales beaching?

No, the increased acidity effects shell formation. And remember - they're at the bottom of the food chain. If they suffer, so do the bigger critters.

It's pretty simple.

Higher CO2 levels in the air has been repeatedly proven to increase ambient air temps.

Fossil fuels are essentially carbon that is trapped underground. Every time we pull it out of the ground and burn it the carbon is released back into the atmosphere. As a civilization we are carbon positive, even counting in vegetative consumption of carbon emissions.

Change will be hard. Old money beats new money every time.

Fascinating concept, really. But when the SHTF comes, all virtual coinage becomes completely worthless. Globally.

Other than barter, only Gold and silver coinage will prevail as means of trade.
