Gluing Neck lams

Hello

A few searches didn't yield the results i was looking for so here you go:

How do you guys glue up multi piece necks? I glue them one piece at a time because its the only way i can keep the darn things in line. There must be a better way of doing this, right?

I think most people do it about the same way as I do. Basically the lower clamps keep them lined up because of gravity, though I do make sure they are all pressed down against the clamp bars as I tighten. The ends shouldn't be a problem. The side that is against the clamp bars ends up being the front after being cleaned up by running through the table saw.

Glue press - note the aluminum angles on either side for straightness and distribution of pressure, and screw-type bar clamps for clamping pressure (forget the trigger-type bar clamps, not enough force).

The trigger clamps at the ends are just to hold the lams down vertically on the table so they don't "float" up out of the press when you squeeze from the sizes. This one is padauk-ebony-paduak-ebony-paduak destined for The Red Bass.
