Gnarliest P pickups (also NBD)

1st thought for aggressive p bass tone to me is the Di Marzio Model P. (Same for jazz-Model Js)

Duncan 1/4 lber is another but more scooped. The Fender Original is a versatile all around choice as well.

I’m surprised the range of whisper to a scream I can get with the Wilde P-46-the real Bill Lawrence pickup. (In my case a pj set with the jazz version in the bridge ). Super versatile pickups and my current favorite in all styles.

This! The MFD, in the words of Austin Millbarge (Dan Akroyd) in the movie Spies Like Us: "Do you know what those things can do? Suck the paint off your house and give your family a permanent orange afro!" lol!

DiMarzio Model P as many have mentioned. They came out in 77 so you capture both the tone you want and the era. Punk started in 1976/1977.
Buy current ones, they've never changed in tone from the time they came out. People who say the early ones have different tones are charlatans.
Model P cut through a mix like champs and record beautifully.
If for some reason that does not work, try Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. They are very scooped but work well for rock and punk music.
Stay away from vintage pickups: Lollar, Fralin, Aguilar... they're beautiful sounding but not what you are looking for.
