Go Practice

Well after playing for many many years sitting around and messing on the comp and listining to music is just about as good of practice as anything! I can see how 90% of a song is played in my head! So i take this time to browse at amazon and talk here! Amazon is cool because you can browse music and listen to clips! But i practice hands on about a hour a day then every other day is band practice. I use the down time to rest my fingers my back and my neck!

Stop it cass, you're making me cry!

Why do you spend time at this forum when you can practice?

Want a reason--here you go.

When I was 15 I loved the sound of bass guitar. I begged my parents for one and got a used bass for Christmas. Family was poor so lessons were out of the question and I didn't live close to any music stores. So without any information I tried for several months to make that darn thing sound like all the great basses I heard on my tapes (yes tapes at that time) to no avail. In fact I could barely get any sound out of it at all, and that which I got was a buzzy, rattling mess. I got frustrated and ended up selling the bass.

Flash forward 15 years. At 30, I finish school and can't shake the feeling that I need to play bass. So I use this new-fangled internet thing and discover TB. After months of reading I buy a bass. I come back to TB often and discover how to set-up my bass, tips for practice, advice on amps/cabs, and some of the nicest individuals I've met anywhere. I get more out of my bass playing, I stick with it, and now have a gig with the local cover band. :)

How's that for a reason to spend time here?
