I'm wondering if anyone here goes direct to the board when playing live, I have an Eden wtdi that sounds great for electric bass as well as acoustic guitar and haven't seen if anyone has used it for DB. (Did a search)
My current setup is a Shen sb150 and full circle. I'm going to try this out soon and will report back, but I thought I would ask before I try.

I have used a Mic to go direct before with mixed results.. pretty much depends on the stage volume. I'm hoping the full circle and wtdi will be a higher volume option.

What's the impedance on that DI?

I sometimes go without an amp and just use my fishman pro platinum bass EQ. More often I prefer to have an amp, even if a small one, to allow me to hear myself. I dislike relying on monitor wedges and the FOH guy to give me what I need. For what I do, playing strictly acoustic isn't going to happen, ever.

Dogbert Day,
I do this quite often with my Headway EDB-2, as long as the monitors have enough sends to accommodate the bass on a separate channel, you're good to go.

Eden doesn't list many specs on the WTDI but I did find in one of their forums that their amp input is 1megohms. I use my Eden with an NS NXT EUB (which has a piezo) all the time into one of my two amps but do not use the DI, as their is a DI out of both amps.

Took me awhile to get to like the Eden, it seems the controls are pretty touchy so I leave the tone flat and use a little enhance and compression (say 10:00 - 12:00).

Isn't the WTDI basically the same as the preamp section of the world tour amps, including the little pre tube? I have a WT amp and the preamp has a 1meg input and works fine for a piëzo. With that amp I only use my fdeck for the high pass filter and the phase switch there is no need for an impedance buffer.
