I used tape wounds back in the 80's and had no issues with them coming apart. And really didn't affect my tone that much. Much easier on my fingers than SS round wounds.

The Copper Whites are my all-time fav's! Good tone, like Chromes, but lower tension and slightly less edge on the G. Think roundwounds without the finger noise.

This is HUGE for me, as I have a some skin issues that make roundwounds basically unplayable for longer than 15 minutes. This is very good to hear. I'm excited to try some out.

Tried tapes for the first time this year, four basses now strictly tapes! while they can do mellow semi upright, i find they suit any style, and are the quietest, fastest playing strings. wish id known sooner. come to the dark side!

I like the LaBella white nylon series better than their black tapewounds.

If you're coming from chromes, the copper or gold white nylon sets may be more to your liking.

The copper white nylon is my goto tapewound string. Beautiful tone. Especially on fretless.

Officially took the plunge and snagged some Labella black tapes from BSO. I can't wait to get them, and have a true setup done. Hoping for some sickly low action.
