I have always wanted to do a pbass with a gold-leaf finish.
Years ago I saw a regular off the shelf Telecaster that someone, I think I was Jens Ritter, did in gold-leaf, then painted black, but wiped all (most) of the black paint off, so the paint settled into all the texture in the leaf. It was a beautiful finish. All the hardware was plated in platinum and the knobs were set with 1 carat diamonds.

It is a cool bass - somewhat over-engineered electronically. Kind of like the Ric-o-Sound concept on steroids. I don't think Peavey has done anything like it since. Design-wise it's very ergo and the 24 fret carbon-fiber neck has the closest 'feel' to my '64 T-bird. I'd love to find a B-Quad neck floating around for a build.

All apologies for the super-crappy old iPad photography. The bass on the left is the epoxied fretless fingerboard wearing stainless steel rounds and gold Les Paul knobs, I call it the "full Jaco". On the right is the p bass fretless neck w flats. Both have Bart 9j1's, my favorite pickup. Both have seen many gigs before the shutdown.
