Gold strings, gold fingerboard

I have had these strings a while and put them back on yesterday when I gave my bass a good going over. They have a really deep and full sound to them. I used Marleaux strings a lot with this bass, then Elixirs which I didn't like so much (though I always will use them on the fretted) but these are the best sounding, and not bad looking either!

I've heard lots of great things about Optima 24k gold-plated strings

The strings do not wear the fingerboard hardly at all because it is a material dubbed 'Delta Metal' which is a Brass/Zinc mixture and extremely resilient. In the last pic you can see some tiny 'scratches' but they polish out with some metal cleaner. It was made in 1995 and nothing is apparent yet...

I've been using Optima Gold strings for a while now - absolutely love them - look good on all my basses too!!

For example:-

I also have a Teal Musicman SUB that looks weird to me without gold strings on it now, and my '83 Fender Precision Special (with gold h/ware) looks the biz with too!!

That's really cool looking. I may have to pick some of those up too. I just got a bass today that's teal with gold hardware. Those strings would make it over-the-top-gaudy!!
