Oh, I will most definitely do that!
I know a lot of amateur astronomers around the U.S. and we plan on making our observatory available to people, and school, and scouting groups, etc.
It will have a computer controlled rotating dome, and my computer will control the scope (even wireless from my house) and I plan on doing a lot of imaging. Right now, I'm not sure as to which scope to get, but I'm leaning towards a Meade RCX400 14", permanently mounted on a pier inside the dome.
I will use the top of the other silo as a platform for other, more portable scopes too.
Star parties will happen frequently out there. We want our land to be accessible for people to enjoy what we have. It will just take some time before everything is built and/or renovated.

I just got the down payment check for my art commission. I could quit work today if I wanted to.
But since I won't be starting this work until the end of June, I can milk my job for a few more paychecks for extra cash until then. I don't mean that in a "just doing it for the money, and screw my employer" kind of way. Just a logical choice to plan my exit here.
I'm getting really excited about the artwork, and it is a bit difficult to concentrate on work. I'm getting my work done here, but it's hard pulling my head out of the clouds.
A job is always so much more fun when you know you are leaving it (by choice) soon.
