Good FX for goregrind - heavy fuzz & distortion

I will recomend a 2-pedal combo: Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive and the Boss OC-3 Super Octave. The overdrive by itself is great for heavy industrial type distortion, and in conjunction with the octave, you WILL move bowels! The octave itself also has a drive mode that sounds totaly killer.

Hi all,
Been a bassist for about 20 years and recently got a gig with an extremely heavy goregrind band. I have been through more FX and boutique equipment than I know what to do with, but I figured I'd ask for opinions in people who are more versed in the genre than me....

What are some good old-school FX for heavily detuned goregrind, deathgrind, etc? I started by pulling out some of my old collection of DOD pedals and the supra distortion and classic fuzz sound pretty trashy (in a good way) It's what the bassist from Mortician played with a few weeks ago when I saw them. Should I whip out some of my boutique overdrives, distortions, fuzz, etc?

Any other recommondations? It could be boutique, cheap, doesn't really matter. Just wanted opinions from people who know how to kick out the devastating heavy lows I need for this style of music. Thanks!

I just added two Recovery Effects pedals to my rig that I wish I had a heavier applications for... Recovery Sound Destruction and Recovery Bad Comrade, both can achieve really heavy, thick distortions and tons of crazy feedback options to fill some space in grind core.

If you want something that fills in better with your band and wont get lost as much in down-tuned drudge guitars, I would recommend Fuzzrocious Ram the Manparts... Good OD that will allow your bass tone to still fill out the mix, and has a voltage sag if you want to break into something more interesting.
