I enjoy the groovin' of John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin and Jack Bruce when he was with Cream.

SamJ said:I like old school R&B, hate hip hop with a passion.. but I'll try to see if she's in itunes.. if she can groove, then she can groove! I won't argue until I hear for myself otherwise.

James Hart said:WOW! She plays for herself mostly
but you may have seen her in the Funk Brothers movie
cause she sounds like Adam Clayton with a pick or something, but she's usually a hottie or something, so all the dudes in the thread will drool all over her.. which is so lame..SamJ said:Here is a case to be made for a genuine talent and a bassist with "Groove" (something so, so, many both men and women lack) and yet I'm not even familiar with her, as she clearly doesn't get enough recognition.. why? I'll leave that for another thread..
Sorry if I came across as arrogant. I really thought you might be kidding, since she gets a lot of press in the bass-player world even if she is not as well-known in the bigger sense. She is also known for playing old Fender Jazzes.SamJ said:yeah.. sorry if I haven't heard of every bassist on the planet in my 20+ some odd years playing.. what / who does he play with? Very cool that you mentioned Aaron, great cat/friend and amazing player... Is he the bassist for Lettuce now? Man, in the mid-to-late 90's when I used to see them all the time, Erick Coomes was the bassist... hmm, learn somthing new each day.
Also, you might want to add these groups to Aaron's list:
Board of Education
Bellamy Bros. Band
Sam Kinninger Band
Martin Luther
