Good Guitar Center

Yeah I was talking about the CME and Make n Music (they only pay lip service to basses there) The Halsted GC must have some customers with coin. They have a nice Fender room and a high end room if you want to try those one-off babies from yesteryear. I bought my Markbass there and got great service. The bass dept is starting to expand as well.
Oh, got it. I called Make n when I was looking for a P bass, and the guy who answered actually discouraged me from coming in--he made it sound like they were getting out of selling basses completely.

The Halsted GC's got a pretty decent bass selection. (And it's close to me.) I might take Crash Clint's idea and use the Fender room to try out basses.

Thanks for the lead on Murphy's. I'll check it out sometime.

Another Murphy's recommendation here. They were my favorite store when I lived in the Dallas area.

My favorite Guitar Center in the area is the one in Arlington. They usually have a better selection of bass gear than the other stores.

When did the Lewisville store open? I didn't know that there was one there.

I mostly bought accessories at GC, but have bought a few larger things there. A Pedulla Rapture, an Ibanez SR506, and an SWR Basic Black.
