Good or bad deal? - Ebay Washburn

Is there a reason this isn't selling? Its been on ebay for months now and I'm starting to suspect maybe it isn't a good buy? I've been saving up for a 6 string and I'm pretty set on an ESP LTD D6, but this Washburn looks pretty nice too.

What do you guys think?

The reason it's still there is because he's a dealer and can sell as many as he wants; it's not a single bass that has been languishing on eBay. Seller has 100% positive feedback. WRT the price, I don't know.

Washburn makes nice stuff, but isn't top tier in terms of its name.

Ok thank you. I think I'm pretty set on the esp but I needed to clear this up first to root out doubt and second thoughts. Though I do have one more, I'm asuming its an ebay based company and not high quality but have you heard/experianced Maestro basses?

The Washburn's at about the expected price point for that bass. The other instrument is a Chinese-built 6. The ESP you're saving up for is Korean or Chinese built as well.
I think the reason the Washburn is continually there is that the seller is a dealer combined with the fact that 6 strings aren't as fashionable as they once were. That combined with the slow economy means that 6 strings hang out for a while longer online.
I've had students show up with Washburns and these cheap Asian basses and they're OK. They're not Foderas or Ken Smiths but they're fine to gig on and as a first 6. A lot of guys on here like the Rondo Music 6 strings and they're OK too.

FWIW, the ESP is on the Zzounds website at slightly less than this Washburn. In terms of electronics and build, they're similar, with the exception of the bold-on neck on the Washburn. The woods look similar. You will need to get a dedicated tuner for the Washburn due to the Buzz Feiten tuning system, though.

If you have your heart set on the ESP, it makes sense to go ahead and get it since the prices are the same. Enjoy your 6!

Thank you for your input Roy! I think I'll probly just go for the esp. Just looking at it, it looks very solid and really well built, for the price anyways i guess. I'll probly end up getting it after I get my taxes done! hehe
