Good P-Bass news from Fender Mike Eldred...!!!!

Did I say "everyone?" A lot of people are followers and will buy something just because their hero plays it or because somebody tells them to.
Yeah? So? A lot of people buy Spectors or Wals or Rics or Ibanez because their heroes play them, too.

Sorry, I don't like it when people call other people lemmings. It's people's way of saying "Look how smart I am and how dumb everyone else is."

Oh sheesh, I wasn't saying I was smarter than anyone else. I've bought stuff because somebody I liked used it. And I wasn't saying "Fender". You're taking what I'm saying and making it black and white statements and they're not. This is exactly my point though. People are stuck on the same old stuff. Why can't we have something new? Is it too threatening or what? I know the old designs work, but certainly others do too, and a great company like Fender could certainly do a tiny bit more expanding. That's all I was saying.

It's pretty simple, really. Fender, as many others have stated here, have offered new/diffent designs many times: Coronado, Zone, "Cowpoke", Urge...
All failures as far as the buying public is concerned. The reason being that they were mediocre in one if not all departments, whether it was electronics or body design.
I think Fender is smart enough to know that committing millions to a design that might
work, is just not worth it anymore. They know where their strengths are and any company that wishes to survive uses capitol to augment these strengths.

In short, everyone knows that Fender makes Fender style instruments.
If you want coffee table, there are a billion makers who offer that now.
