Goodbye Sadowsky?

I'm using Sadowsky bright nickels .45 Man they are the best strings I ever played,I love the sound and feel of the nickels,I don't want steel strings but...

I need some more highs then Sad. nickels, they don't sound right when slapping.I need a little more slap sound.I was thinking Rotosound swing bass or DR Lo-riders,what do you say?Would they sound too thin for fingerstyle?

BTW I have a Washburn xb-120 and ıt has a problem with lighter gauges and steels as the tone gets too thin,I can't stand it.

Wouldn't SIT be too bright? My tone gets really annyoing with the bright strings.I love the feel and tone of the nickels but as my bass lacks Slap 'n pop sound,I need somthing a little brighter.
I'm sure SIT will sound really good with slapping but the fingerstyle will be real pain.

I play mainly fingerstyle on a fretless P bass... SIT Rock Bright Stainless are my string of choice.

If they are your string of choice they must be good as you have a lot more experience/talent than me Mr. Hart, thats why I asked that, don't get me wrong.I still haven't found my choice thanks to my cheapo's lack of tone, but I think as I love the nickels I might as well give a try to Sadowsky steels. But than again there are the sunbeams...Hmm what to do? :p
Thanks for the answers BTW!

I just thought maybe a set of .40 Sadowsky Nickels solve the problem, would it make such a difference?

we all have our own preferences and tones... Nickel rounds sound dead and lifeless to me. Players that dig nickel round tone will think my steels are too bright and harsh.

It took me a few years of trying new brands and types every couple months to figure out what works for me :bassist:

re reading the thread, I'd try the other guage nickels first if I was you.

I played a set of the light nickels. They were a little subdued for my liking on my RV5.

Dave

What do you mean by subdue Dave? Were they quiet, soft feeling,or what? I really hate the feel of .40 thats why I'm asking,I'm changing my direction to .45 steels as I remember using .40 strings.Man that feel......pffff :hmm:

Did not have the pop and snap I like. I think DA XLs have better top end. Although I liked the Sadowsky Nickels, they just were not what I was looking for.
