He knows how to work hard and work right to achieve his goals, it's nice that it's in restaurants, and it's nice that he helps others do the same. Great teacher.
Watching him just now on Hell's Kitchen, and he made the two cooks who messed up a dish sit and eat it, LOL!
Some people (and entire cultures) believe that the disposition of the chef carries over into the food they prepare, then that is consumed and the consumer suffers for it.
The people at McDonalds are clearly pissed off.

I have an enormous respect for Ramsay. He's worked under some of the best chefs, like Marco Pierre White. No body does that if they don't have a passion for cooking.
I think Ramsay got most of his mannerisms from Marco, except on TV, Ramsay is clearly worse for publicity. Marco once heard one of his chefs say "It's hot in here today" so he took a pairing knife and cut open the back of his jacket. Didn't say a word.
Ramsay definitely loves cooking, but takes his job very seriously.

I've worked with some Scottish lads, and if anything, I think Ramsay is toning down his cursing for TV.
I also agree I like Gordan Ramsey despite his antics he does however give people respect and praise when they earn it. I think that's the way he was probably taught I am sure if you asked him he would have stories.
Producer to Gordon: "This is tv, we want drama. Remove your filter. Say what you really WANT to say to the peons, but normally restrain yourself from actually saying for the sake of decorum, and say it LARGE!"
From what I understand, that's the culture in the kitchen, for good or bad I suppose. Also, I've heard that Ramsay's employees actually love him and are intensely loyal. He's sort of a drill sergeant who kicks your ass, but for whom you have immense respect.
Don't get me wrong; it's not an environment I'd like to work in everyday.
