So I was playing in The Villages in Florida last night. Periodically, the band will go into impromptu jams to run off the clock: its great for self indulgence (lol) and the crowd generally likes seeing us all play -- as long as these jams idont get dragged out. At one point, the guitarist and I traded solos and I was breaking out different things: slap, tap, fingers etc.........at the end of the set, I went over to my wife and brother in law and three guys approach us. Our drummer came up to me , "Hey, somebody wants to meet you"...so I go over, and one of the the three guys introduces me to Steve Morse! Steve told me he really liked the way I played and enjoyed the trading off with the guitarist. I was totally blown away....I told him that I am good friends with Dave LaRue and to tell him that he met me.......Sorry, no pics: I dont care -- Im still stoked and blown away this morning...Ive been friends with Dave Larue for twenty years but never met Steve in all that time

That's amazing!

About a thousand years ago (or maybe just the 1980s) Dave LaRue played in a fusion band called Stretch. It was LaRue, guitarist Glen Alexander and drummer Van Romaine. They played regularly at a local club where I sometimes mixed sound as a wide-eyed teenager. The music was great (if not a little indulgent) and I distinctly remember Dave and Van being extremely nice guys.
