Way to hijack the thread, Jack. Lord Bongo, indeed. :D That's the best picture of the lower horn yet!

I guess that'll teach Söderberg to start a thread about his new Bongo without pics of the new beast. :ninja:

Söderberg--You can always lower the neck pickup to make a little more room for slapping. Someone else has done that to good effect. With more practice, you will adjust to the placement. It's worth the tone. :hyper:

I don't have any problem slapping on the Bongo with the neck pickups, but I also don't utilize the technique much.

Congrats to my Swedish neighbour! I too am interested in getting a Bongo. Did you get yours from home or abroad? Your tax is probably just a big a pain as ours?

BTW, how are the prices on EBS (in kronor) in Sweden? I think they are quite expensive here in Norway. I was thinking of the 2x10 combo that EBS make.

As you point out I am a bit worried about the slap "problem" with the bongo. I have a 5 string Stingray and there's no problem there! ;)

Hey norwaydude! Akkurat - the taxes are killing us up here in the north. check out www.jam.se for some EBS-priceing. I was thinking about getting two of them small Neo-cabs with a 350 watt HD350-head and that costs about 20.000 SEK (and that´s a BARGAIN!). But...I don´t know. I got a great price on that 12" Drome (9.995 SEK) so maybe I´ll go for that one instead.

Hey dude! Sorry for the lack of pics, my digicam ain´t singing my melodies if you know what I mean. But I hope to get some crap going for you pic-thursting guys soon!

I´ll try that lowering of the neckpickup... :bassist: thanks for the advice!

Oh no, you didn't... Ampeg... ewwww... :)

Man I know their reputation and heritage, but they just don't have what I want. I've tried many times to love Ampeg and failed every time. I know there's lotsa' great players who have'm and love'm, and I know they're high quality. Just not at all my thing. :)

I played some old Ampeg-rig at a show about a year ago - sounded GREAT (for rockmusic). But...I know - it´s a matter of taste. I think EBS is...the best for me though... ;)

Thanks for the tip!

You Swedes really know how to make great music products! (Clavia make great synths as well!)

Grattis Söderberg!

For the moment it´s not possible to find one i Göteborg. So i have to rely in my muscle memory (don´t trust my brain enough :D ). It felt really good the last time i played one. But that was in Florida......

Will look all over the place in Phoenix AZ, when i get there i September. The hunt will start at Guitar center in Scottsdale then of to Bassplace in Tempe. There will be another Bongo owner in Sweden.

Ha det!

Splanky,

Look into the Tempe Guitar Center. It gets crowded like a mofo during the weekend, but I'm pretty sure they have at least one in stock right now, so it'd be worth it.

Thanx a lot Random!

Note taken and the more the merrier.

At the moment the plans are to go there in Sept. but you never know. Maybe we "have" to go there earlier. :D
