Got my GK MB Fusion today!!!!

Ya.. i understand your concern, but at the same time i don't understand why people even say stuff like this... because 90% of stores you buy music equipment from give you the ablility to return something for a full refund if you don't like it..
In which case i always have to give something a good week or two trial run to see if it fits my needs in the real world
PLus GK gives a 2 year warranty on there amps
In anything thats mass produced your going to have a bad apple every now and then.. its bound to happen in the game of numbers, not every single piece is gunna be perfect,
just like not every song you make will be a number one hit
I've killed 2 carvin amps and 4 ampegs, blown about 5 speaker cabs in my day .. so i've come to the understanding that stuff happens.. its when you get crappy customer service that renders that brand unworthy of purchasing IMHO
Mine is dead quiet, no hissing problems, even at massive volumes, and i've been wanting for an excuse to get a MXR M80 anyway

I should have known from past GK amps i've had that i gotta play it loud ( like i did for 3 hours today
) to get the full ability of the amp.
i guess cuz i got the 412 that it needs more to do what its told!
I got the grit i was looking for when i cranked it.. and the harmonics came out well also! This amp is by far my fav from the GK line,, it sounds awsome and the weight is a winner in my book,, my rack case loves to be handled!
I also use my rig as a doubble for playing guitar, and its just wow'n me in that department also.
my pinch harmonics are SO clear!!! A+ for the MB Fusion Gk!

I have had mine for three weeks now.
I've A/Bed it with my Mesa WA head and love it.
I run it through my Berg NV610.
I can get clean and loud, and dirty and loud.
The channel switching ability makes it more diverse than the Mesa in that area, yet I find them very similar in tone, but the GK is definitly louder. I have the GK gig bag for it, which is a nice addition. I get My Status, NV610, and the MB Fusion in my Smart car and I get a tractor trailer bass rig sound. Very Happy with the Fusion

I am considering either the MB 500 or Fusion MB as a lightweight alternative to my Eden rig. A really attractive feature is the physical size of the unit as it would fit in my bass gig bag. Cab in one hand with bass in the other would be a welcome change for small gigs.
In any case, does anyone have any experience with the Fusion and an Eden WT550 in comparative terms? I realize the Eden is more powerful but I am more curious as to the comparison in clarity, definition and range of sound of THE GK. I have 4ohm cabinets (210xst and 212xlt) and certainly realize I would only be able to drive 1 at a time. I would also be interested in how a Neo112 II compares to an Eden 112xlt. I have one of those in 8ohm and although it is excellent on top of the 210 or 212, I am not particularly fond of the tone running solo. I am considering a Neo112 as part of the Fusion purchase package.

Don't be too sure about that. Eden has always been notorious for being very "gracious" with their ratings... IMHO anyway... after owning and gigging several.
Good question. The only Eden I have right now is the WT405, which is the only all SS head they make, and by far my fave of theirs tonally, but I have spent a good amount of time with the tube pre ones too. I'd say the MB Fusion is gonna' sound bigger on the low end, have more clarity up high than the 550, but the Eden will have a little more going on in the upper mids... at least set flat. I'd think to get a pretty Eden like sound, you could take the MB Fusion, drop the bass a little, boost the upper mids a tad, and maybe cut the treble a little. Then adjust the contour to taste. And I bet you walk away thinking the MB Fusion has a lot more "power" too.
Anyway, lotsa' folks have these for sale and back it up with the usual eval policy, and shipping on them is super cheap, so I'd say give one a try, compare, and report back.

The WT550 will do 2 ohms, if you need that.
I'd bank on the GK crushing it for power.

Engage the pad if the clip light comes on (more often than a flicker) when you are playing. It doesn't matter if its a passive or active bass.
Just played another show with my Fusion last week. Sound guy said we were loudest band he had ever heard play there. Said the bass was huge. Got some some compliments on my sound from non musicians too.
I recently played a rehearsal where I left my Tone Hammer pedal at home and just used my A/B pedal and drove the gain all out on the B channel. Excellent fat, but not overly saturated fuzz, overdrive that is still articulate. I could slap, do flamenco strums, anything and still be heard by all my band mates over the keys, distorted guitar and super heavy handed drummer. Makes think of stripping down my pedal board some more.

My selection was just because MB500s are sold out at the European distributor. I hope I won't regret extra euros spent on the Fusion, will I.

I ordered MB Fusion last Monday and transferred the payment to Thomann last Tuesday. They received the payment today, Friday. Suddenly I see that MB Fusion is not available and only questions on availability can be asked by e-mail or phone. I'm getting anxious. Hopefully, when I place an order, the item for me is booked there...
Let's wait and see.

Fingers crossed for you Antek, I got very frustrated waiting for the MBE210 cab which nobody outside the USA seemed to be able to get hold of, I got so peed off that I ordered the MBE115 which was available and to be honest I dont regret it, it suits the MB210 perfectly and sounds awesome .
The MB Fusion should be really good, I dont know why GK dont seem to be able to make enough cabs/amps or maybe they do and the demand for them is immense ??

Good news is that Thomann informed me on successful commissioning of my order and it is now being prepared for shipment. My trust is restored now.
I only wonder why I did not get a Polish sales assistant since I made the order from the Polish Thomann and the delivery address is in Poland. This is a minor matter though.
Your question Graham is valid. I can see GK gear disappearing from the stock like a forest on fire. Good for GK, but if they could provide more consistent deliveries it would be also good for them.

I have to say now -- honestly -- that the service at Thomann is just perfect. Yes, now I got an SMS to my mobile phone informing me my order has been completed and sent out!
