Finally set it up today. Compared it with my Hartke and GK heads. I think one of them has to go and it's not the ampeg. Hartke and GK are going through the hydride cab and Ampeg in the Ampeg Cab. Each Amp is set up tone wise as I like it tho I have not messed around much with the 8 pro.

Blown away by how good the 8 pro sounds. And I thought I had a great tone before with the Hartke GK blend. Oh and I can't believe the 8 pro was up for sale for about two months and you guys let me buy it!

I only had it up to 6 on the volume. 1000 watt head and 1000 watt cab. I never blew a speaker since I was a beginner and more or less did it on purpose to get a distorted sound out of my practice amp.

I bet this costs me 400 dollars. Not sure if I should spend the money or sell the cab for parts. I think I want to move to a whole Ampeg rig anyway.

Here is video of the now blown cab, least I think its blown. Sounds like crap ever since it seemed to peak.

Man, good question. The upper notes sounded clear, but not the lower notes. I suppose something did happen, but it needs further investigation to decide whether it really did blow all 4.

i had a issue with my markbass cl 104, the lead wires were to short, so they ripped it didn't cost me a lot. or with the bassman 410 pro happen that the lead wires rattled , so i simply glued them back on basket.

That describes it perfectly. Easy blown. NO warning. No stress warning nothing. I've heard stories about un protected cabs at high volume tho. Pretty sure my compressor was off. If you listen to the ampeg demo the cab is just starting to bottom out. The 8 pro head needs to run with two cabs. I got the hydrives cause they are lighter in weight. Maybe too lite,

The good news is I pulled a speaker and learned they are pop in connectors and no soldering required. All I have to do is fork out the cash and I can get this fixed.

Here are the settings on the new Ampeg, according to my Ear's taste for tone. Anyone see any issues? First amp I have owned that had a gain and master volume to work with.

If you are happy with your tone and no speakers are blowing (anymore), then your settings are fine. I don't do it with SVT tube amps but I do it all the time with their other heads. Just keep your ears open for speaker stress.

Here is the whole unit. I added a spacer and glued painted screen door mesh to the back side but it does not come out in the photo.

I blew the Hartke cab with the Hartke head so the Ampeg is innocent LOL But I am worried about it so really need to run two bass cabs to distribute the load. The Ampeg is a high wattage beast. I got it into my compressor now just have not fired it up yep cause ZZ sounds sent me the wrong speak on cable. I need a longer one unless I want to move the rack to the Ampeg head. I might since it's the week end.
