Got my Skjold back!!!!!

Hey guys, after my step bro messed with my skjold, Pete said he'll take care of the damage. Pete deffinetly keeps his word:bassist:

I sent the bass to him just to have some neck work done to even out some bowing. I get the bass back and the WHOLE bass is tuned up!! New screws are in place for the neck, the whole fretboard is polished, fretwork was done and further alligned with the side of the neck (it warped a bit, wood contracted when it was shipped from the warm climate of texas to new york). the pickups were tuned and the action was set. Pete did this all free of charge. A full tune up!! Talk about customer service!

I ordered two sets of Skjold strings as well. They are fantastic! Very light, and they feel great. The sound very bright and modern, but the versatility of the Skjold preamp and pups can churn any sound out of any string :D. I installed a set of Skjold roundwounds on my fretless and they sound phenomenal as well. I deffinetly would recommend these strings to try. I believe you can get samples from Pete for an extremely good price.

If anyone is considering a custom bass, just think about the service and quality you'll be getting from skjold :D

Man, that Pete Skjold guy is a lurker :hiding:

:D I just played out with the new strings on my Roscoe, and boy did they cut through in the mix.

I will try them on my maple neck Roscoe next, they should be perfect for it. They seemed a little bright for me on my wenge neck.

But man do they have some killer attitude. :bassist: :D Thanks again Pete for the strings.

A story like that will make me consider a Skjold for my next purchase...:)

I have played a few Skjolds, and they have been awesome! And this just shows that Pete makes not only a great product, but also has great customer service! I may have to get one someday. :)

(I just got a 'boutique' bass, and it's going to ruin me... :D)

Nat,
Glad you got "your baby" back! I guess your brother is now forgiven....?;)

As I stated in a PM to you, I was in the shop when your bass was in, and saw all that Pete was doing for it. Kind of like getting a new bass all over again?

Not sure if I should ask here, but did he also swap out the knobs for his newer dome-top knobs? I love those things!!

Once I was wondering lost through the woods in California after the rich guy I was babysitting for decided to go all psycho on me. While in the woods I started getting tracked by a Mountain Lion. I was pretty freaked out and finally ended up cornered by the mountain lion. I thought the end was nigh, but out of nowhere Pete sprung out on the lion and snapped his neck before I could blink.

Shocked, I stammered for a few seconds trying to gather the words...all I could muster was "How?, Why?" Without hesitation Pete answered, I kill all sorts of wild game for the benefit of my customers, why just last week I took on a full grown bull Moose for a guy in Wyoming...well that and you still owe me the balance on your custom...a man's gotta make a living you know?

That my friends, is customer service!
True story! I swear on the headstock of my Skjold...
(Parts of this story may be borrowed from season 2 of 24);)

Well, I wasn't going to mention it.....

but while we were in the Secret Service together, Pete took a bullet for me! I was in the scope of a Communist hit man and somehow....to this day I don't know how....but somehow Pete knew my life was in danger.

Without hesitating an instant, Pete leaped out in front of me and took that guys bullet!!!!

Well, for a while we weren't sure Pete was going to make it. You see the bullet lodged in his brain....and it altered him. During rehab, Pete kept saying, "Must make basses.....must make basses...." So after months of rehab and medication, Pete is doing what he's wanted to do. Kind of like a near-death experience. Pete is now making awesome basses, unaware that in a "former life" he was a hit man for the U.S. Government.

True story! Well.....SOME of it was true......well......a couple words were......

;)

You know, Pete told me not to tell anyone, but he actually plays all my gigs for me. Ever since I got my Skjold bass, I just wake up on Saturdays and Sundays with a few extra bills in my gigbag. It's amazing that guy gets anything done - I mean, I'm pretty busy!
