Got some new cabs, they are pretty big....

So those are my new Emperor 4x12 and 4x15 cabs, they are massive, and huge. Dudes custom make them out of Chicago, and I got a really good deal on them. Sorry the pic kinda sucks, but trust me these things are huge and sound incredible. You really can't grasp the gravity of the hugeness of these things until you see them in person.

They are all various Eminence speakers in the cabs, and they produce some serious low end, they make me happier than few things can.


I'll write more when I get less excited and just overwhelmed I'll give a better review later.

yeah man you should make a recording or something if you can because i've been interested in those cabs (even got a quote for a 215 a while back) but have been hesitant because i had no idea how they would sound. i see you have a 400+ and that's what i use too. man those are huge, must be heavy. i used to stack a nv610 on top of a nv215 and that was a chore haha.

wow, i read 4x12 and looked at the pic expecting it to be the bottom cab, and in my head thought the top was a 4x10. i was amazed when i reread it. should sound massive.

The cabs stacked are 5' 3" tall and 3 4" wide.

They sound incredible, they move so much air I am super stoked to play a show with them. I would record something with them, but it kind of gets lost using an internal mic on garage band to see how these things sound. The purpose of them is to play loud, so yeah, if any one is really interested I'll do a clip when I have a chance, but yeah I'm really digging them.

When I Russian Circles last week, Brian Cook (TAAS) was running a 4x12 and a 1x18 Emperor cabs and I can only describe the tone as GIGANTIC! I'm probably going to make the investment in the very near future.



And no, the 18 wasn't muddy.

Ok I got some updated pics for everyone.

First we got just better pic of the cabs.

Second a close up of the side of the 4x12 so you can see the finish...yeah birch.

And finally a pic of an 8x10 (ok it is a 4x10 and 1x5, but it is still the same size as a standard fridge cab) in front of the stack to give you a slightly better idea of just how big these things are.

stairs + those cabs = one of the worst experiences of my life, but plugging into them more than makes up for it.

I think they stain the wood and put a few coats of urethane over it. I've got a guitar 6x12 coming next week with a lighter finish and oxblood grill.
