I just saw on the GR Bass Facebook page that they have a new Acoustic 8" 3 channel combo. I have the FB link here but not sure if it will allow me to post it. I know it is a guitar based product...I wonder if something like this might be in the works for bass in a 10" variation? If the link I am about to post doesn't work, can someone go sleuth this out? They have a short clip on their FB page, and perhaps it can be posted here?

It kind of reminds me of the original AER Bass cube 1 it was also a tri channel design.

If someone has the time and inclination, could you please reach out to GR Bass and put a bug in their ear? I am going to do the same, and see if this might work into a 1x10 combo with these features for doublebass! It seems that if they can up whatever power is in there for bass and add a HPF, come in at under 15 pounds, they would sell enough to plant the flag for being a killer portable/one-trip-load-in combo for us!

Here is a couple of pics of the stacked mini rig of dollars....so, so good! The pic is next to an orchestral snare drum I built for height reference. (I build custom drums as a biz). Tiny potent little guy!

Lawdy, puh-leeze! Ric Vice.....chime in here my man! Thanks for all you do for the community, BTW!

Well Matt,

I had the same exact thoughts as my

new/used GR Bass AT Cube Acoustic 12” is a great light weight two channel, combo. Unfortunately, I don’t
Speak Italian and I think that might be a prerequisite for starting a productive dialogue hard to say. From what I can gather looking at the entire GR amp and cabinet like their seem to be some limitations in the way the boxes are built. They’re either cube’s or column’s ,

They have done the 1x10, the 1x10 powered...if they adjusted the interior dimensions and mechanics of the box, dropping a bass model of the pre seems like it would solve some bassists amplification challenges.
I dig the 1x12 cube, but I am talking about the AT1x10 column (as you accurately described) shaped cabinet.

Being able to blend a pickup and mic into a combo and have an extra channel for vocals, etc would be clutch!

I ADORE my AT110 with my Clarus SL, but having the option and convenience of a combo under 15 pounds with that capability and an added HPF seems like it would tick a ton of boxes!

They are very responsive and my emails have been in English. All communications have been great! I figure, the more people asking for it, the more he might put something together as a prototype...perhaps send it to Dr. Wolf for testing (wink, nudge, etc)

I just got a powered AT 110. It works great with the Felix2. You can also connect your active bassguitar directly, without an external preamp.
I also used my fdeck as a preamp, which works great too (but without any tone control besides hpf).

I don’t play in superloud settings, so this 5 kg setup does it for me.

sine I already own a Grace Designs Felix I’m considering getting. GR Bass ACT 1x10 or 1X12 to use in conjunction with the Felix. I hadn’t considered that the GR ACT would support just using a Bass Guitar’s onboard preamp. That’s interesting.

I'm a big fan of 8" speakers for bass - both upright and electric. I'd like to see them produce a 2x8" amp for upright.

My MAS 18 and Acoustic Image head no longer have customer support and won't last forever. Though I use mostly in-ears, I'd like to have a combo for when I sit in with other bands and practice at home with my electric.

I’ve owned several 2x8 Cabinets A SWR Baby Blue 2x8 Extension, EA VL 208, A LDS 2x8. All of the were really nice cabinets, all sounded great all were on the heavier side @ 30 lbs. Unfortunately adding the additional 8’ driver will increase the weight. Once I bought a Audiokenisis TC 112 I realized that there are single lightweight single 12” that can in the right cabinet sound phenomenal. Mike Arnopol’s 1x8’s are outstanding but not available. I moved to a GR Bass AT Cube Acoustic 20.3 lbs and in my personal experience great sound and tone. I bought mine used off the TB classifieds. I still have my powered MAS 1/8 after this coming August it will be up for sale.
