Fool for low profile that I am I got some of that super velcro and stuck the Focus to the back of the MAS 46...it still fits in the case and I can keep the speaker and cord plugged in, kind of like a home brew MAS 46 combo amp. THe Felix will be on the floor (I hate cords and I am trying to figure out the best way to have a mic and pickup plugged in to it with the shortest practical cords and then the neatest simplest route back to the amp. Radbass is going to send me some pictures of the Ice modules he builds. (although my frankenamp is great and now that all those buttons are behind it where they wont confuse me (I have a whole new set with the Felix) I still would like to have a Felix and a dedicated poweramp. If the poweramp had a giant lit VU meter pulsing with the beat, I wouldn't mind at all...

Personally, I'm a confirmed Grace Felix user. While there are other options out there, this is the box for me. When you combine it with the M700 it's the ideal paring
for either DB or EB. Full range, clean, articulate, and easy to tweak. The ALiX should be attractive to those folks who don't need a two channel box.

I've only had the thing back a few days but man, this is quite a box. I used it with the Aptflex in channel 2 and Stat B in channel one, ....unbelievably good sound, no feedback no bleed thru, totally sick. next night, I borrowed a powered PA speaker and ran the pickup mix to my amp and a DI with just the mic to the PA speaker out a few feet in front of me. Crazy good sound.
I can so see getting a small nice PA speaker and having the MAS 16 for me and the PA with the mic, as an every gig thing. Having a separate powered speaker out where it wont feedback and with just a mic going to it.
I took an old 12' guitar cord and cut it in half and soldered ends on it and taped the two together and taped the power cord and the cord to the amp together so that the Felix sits on the floor in front of me with minimal cords and yet control of everything, the amp/cab can be farther back and I don't have to fiddle with it. And the felix has that fat Mute button which I use often.

One thing that I have not been able to work around is I want to have the Stat B on channel 2 fired up with 12v and a Mic on Channel 1. What happens if I set it up that way is that if I want to go back to the Aptflex (piezo) in Channel 2 and the Stat in Channel 1 (some gigs are too loud for a mic and the Stat B mixed with the Aptflex give a pretty good imitation of it) I then have to reset the jumpers on the inside of the box (no easy feat) or channel 2 (with 12 v applied) looses it's impedance settings. Apparently it defaults to some way low setting that sounds terrible with piezos.
I know I should just pick one way to use it and go with it but, I dont see why the 12v button on the side does not switch that off?

Why don't you insert the Aptflex in channel one and the Schertler in channel two? By changing the jumpers inside the Felix you can make sure that not 12V is delivered to channel one, regardless of the 12Vswitch on the side of the unit is on or off. The impedance can be set by using the switch at the back of the unit, as you undoubtedly know. Or have I misunderstood your problem?

Yeah the thing is if I want to use a piezo (underwood) with a mic which is a definite need (like last night where the Stat B) didn't have enough punch to work with a mic then I need CH 2 for the Piezo but for duo or trio gigs I like to use the Stat B and the mic. Ideally I would like to have the dip switch turn on and off channal 2's 12v AND return the impedance so that I can use it how I want. you'd think they would have designed that into the box...maybe they did and I am just messing it up somehow....

THat is what I thought too. But in practice, once you change the jumpers from their default which is Ring to Tip (the stat B is on Tip) the impedance switch (on the back) does not work and in fact the impedance on that channel is lowered to (I think) mic level. As long as the jumpers are set to Tip the impedance switch will not work whether or not the Dip switch (on the side) is on or off.This makes it impossible to have interchangeability between piezo and contact (12v) on ch 2....so long as you have it wired to tip. Changing the Stat B to Ring then also sends the signal to Ring and turns it into a Stereo TRS..but without signal on TIP.... IT is a complicated beast with a lot of options. It sounds brilliant though and the mic channel is stellar.
